Intruder Alarm for a Local Council in Canvey Island, Essex
Our local council in Canvey Island contacted us a while ago. They asked if we would quote to maintain their intruder alarm and CCTV systems. We were lucky enough to win the contract.
The takeover and service in the first year went well. In fact, the staff were so happy, they asked us to quote for new CCTV to replace the existing ageing system.
A COST EFFECTIVE SITE SURVEY
During the initial service, we realised that the CCTV system was old and starting to fail. The previous installer had added to the old system several times. And it was looking a bit sorry for itself.
So we provided a full quotation to install new IP CCTV around the perimeter and internally.
This would offer much better viewing capabilities. Plus it was a Smart system. So the staff could use their mobile phones to check internal areas should the alarm activate.
We also quoted for a full re-wire of the system, removing all old cabling and equipment. This meant the new installation could be clean, neat and tidy. With no interference from the old kit.
The new IP system brings the install up to the latest technology. Which means they won’t need to upgrade again for many years to come.
In the current economy, council work is price driven. They are constantly looking at ways to save money for their residents.
But we always need to ensure the systems are fit for purpose. SFB Solutions focus on value for money rather than just trying to be cheapest.
CCTV EQUIPMENT FOR LOCAL COUNCILS
Because the old CCTV system was failing, it needed to be replaced.
And, keeping that value for money ethos in mind, we opted for Viper CCTV. Plus an 8 Channel video recorder and black and white infra red cameras.
There was a wireless mouse. And hard drives with capacity for at least one month’s recordings.
The Viper kit is extremely easy to use and offers a great warranty should the equipment fail. It is also fully NDAA compliant. Whilst this hasn’t really been discussed widely in the UK, we wanted to ensure we were ahead of the game.
Using an NDAA compliant product means the Council won’t have to change the system in the future. Because it isn’t manufactured by one of the large Chinese brands.
WHAT DID THE COUNCIL SAY?
We now work closely with the team at the Council offices and regularly pop in to make sure they are ok.
They seem to enjoy this closer relationship with their provider. Previous security companies had treated them like a number and not a client.
