Intruder Alarm for an Aircraft Hangar in Southend, Essex
An existing client called us with an unusual property to secure – an aircraft storage hangar!
There had been some break-ins in the local area and the aircraft hangar had no alarm system. So the owners wanted it protected asap.
A SECURE SITE SURVEY FOR AN AIRCRAFT HANGAR
At our initial site survey, it was obvious this was a job unlike any other.
Due to the size and nature of the space, the aircraft hangar came with some unusual problems.
There were often large planes and helicopters parked inside. So we couldn’t use beams to cross the space in case the parked aviation equipment blocked the signals.
Due to the distances involved, standard PIRs wouldn’t work either.
It was time to put our thinking caps on! We needed to find a solution that could effectively detect movement up to 45m. AND cope with large parked objects.
Plus…
Multiple clients needed access to the premises at any given time. So an alarm panel that had lots of codes and fobs was essential.
AND…
The client wanted to have an ARC response on the alarm so we needed to take GSM signals in to account.
A UNIQUE COMMERCIAL INTRUDER ALARM SOLUTION
We specified a fully wired Eaton Scantronic intruder alarm system with:
external sirens, including master blaster sirens ;
GSM communicator; and
SFB Solutions branded keyfobs for all users for ease of use.
Plus
Extra sounders;
long range PIR sensors; and
extra detection to cover this larger than usual space.
The system is fully internet connected for remote support and app control. Cloud connectivity allows us to log in and remotely support our clients fast if they have a problem.
Because many different people use the space, we paid extra attention to the user setup. We ensured each user had a full and unique account. This will allow easy checking of who has set and unset the system and when.
WHAT THE CLIENT SAID
As an existing client, they were already accustomed to our excellent service. They did mention how happy they were to be able to see staff and clients opening and closing the hangar. It wasn’t possible to see “who did what and when” before the alarm was installed.
We always give full training in our hand over procedure. And, for this job, we needed to train staff well enough so that they could in turn train customers.
