Structured Cabling & Electricians
Hi Everyone, i wanted to talk about a job we completed today where the client was let down by their Structured cabling installer. The Electrician had said they would run the Cat6 cable along with their works. This is a good idea if you electrician knows how to install a structured cabling solution properly. Fortunately this one did understand that Cat 6 is a fragile beast but didn’t understand how to patch a panel or label a cable/face-plate.
After an hour of tone and probing each point to ascertain which wire was which we set about patching the panel.
How many of you have arrived at a job that has been pre-wired and ended up re running cables or as above faced with an unlabelled mess?
Thank fully on this occasion we were able to get the client out of trouble quickly and efficiently not causing them any down time, not everyone is as lucky!
